Bandouille
Deux-Sevres
France
A beautiful spring-fed lake of approximately 12 acres, the origins of which, it is believed, date from the 12th Century. Depths vary from 4 metres, possibly an ancient stream bed, down to half a metre on the North East bank. Being a spring-fed lake with no apparent stream feed, no fishing licence is required, seasonal restrictions do not apply and angling is 24 / 7.
The lake bed is of a clay silt, with few weeds or snags. Situated in an area of clay soil, the lake maintains a reasonably steady level with sluices to either lower the level, or borrow some water from our feeder lakes.
