Booking
The group organiser signs the documents on behalf of all the members of the group, and by doing so, confirms that all members of the group have read, and fully understand, the Terms / Rules. The group organiser will be liable for all deposits, payments and costs. All correspondence will be solely with the group organiser.
The booking of the lake will be confirmed by us in writing upon receipt of the deposit / full payment, along with the Booking Form and the Terms / Rules, duly signed and completed by the group organiser. The documents constitute a contract and total acceptance of all the Terms / Rules.
Once we receive the documents relating to your chosen week, along with your payment for the deposit / full payment, your week will be reserved and confirmed to the group organiser in writing, along with our invoice. The venue is booked for the group, as a single payment, and it is the responsibility of the group to arrange travel to the venue. We accept no responsibility should the group, or any member of the group, not be able to reach the venue due to any cause, such as ferry cancellations, vehicle breakdowns, illness etc.
The number of people in the group is stated on the Booking Form. Only those people named on the Booking Form may be on the site.
Bookings are priced in Sterling. The price of your booking is guaranteed against increases, which includes currency fluctuations.
Payments
A deposit of £200 is required when booking the lake for "exclusive" use, or £50 for a single angler. This deposit will be held by us and returned to the group organiser, by post, subject to any forfeitures, such as damage, within a week of the group's departure. If the documents and deposit do not reach us within a week of the booking date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. Full payment is due by the due date. If the booking date is less than 8 weeks before the booked date, the full payment will be payable when the booking is placed. If the full payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain your deposit.
Cancellation
Cancellations must be in writing by the group organiser, after initially contacting the venue.
If your booking is cancelled before the due date, you will only forfeit your deposit.
If your booking is cancelled after the due date, but more than 6 weeks before the booked date, we will refund 50% of the full payment. If your booking is cancelled after the due date, and within 6 weeks of the booked date, no refund will be made.
We will endeavour to re-book your cancelled week, with another group. Should we manage to do this and receive full payment from that group who complete the booking, we will contact you.
Liability
Should the venue become unsuitable for your visit, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will contact the group organiser immediately. We will refund any payments you have made to us, but we will not be liable for any other costs that the group may have incurred.
We will not accept any liability for any defects that may occur during your visit, such as water cuts, electricity cuts, leaks, wind, fire etc. We will endeavour to action any defects immediately. No liability will be accepted for any damage to personal effects, theft or for any injuries.
The group organiser must ensure that the group obtains all relevant insurance, e.g Travel, Medical, Equipment, Public Liability etc.
Rules
Rules, yes sorry, we have a few rules. Not too many we hope, but the rules are there to protect not only the venue, but you, the angler, and of course, the fish and their environment.
Bait
The fish are fed on a specialist high protein feed throughout the year. As with many venues, we prefer that only the highly nutritional feed pellet that the fish are used to, is used as bait. This policy is not for profit, but to ensure the fish have a consistent feed source, which is good for the fish, and results in healthy growth. A 20kg bag of this pellet is included in the price when booking the lake for "exclusive" use. We will ensure that we have enough pellet for you to purchase during your week, at a reasonable price.
Other baits may be used, with the following exceptions:-
No artificial baits, i.e. plastic corns. Quality boilies only. No shelf life boiled baits No nuts, pulses or seed, other than hemp and sweetcorn
Rods
A maximum of three rods per angler.
Rods should be attended at all times, and MUST be attended when the line is in the water.
Tackle
Barbless or micro barb hooks only.
Rig tubing to be used at all times, minimum length, 600mm. Use of this tubing is proven to reduce the possibility to damage to the fish.
No braided main lines, mono-filament only.
No lead-core, snag or shock leaders.
Not less than 15lbs main line.
The hook link must be a lesser breaking strain than the main line.
Other equipment
Unhooking mats MUST be used at all times, and for all fish. Unhooking mats can be provided, subject to availability, (deposit required).
You must have a suitable landing net at all times – minimum 42 inches (105cm).
Boats
Bait boats may be used, with great care.
No boats other than bait boats.
Fish
No sacking of fish is allowed. The use of carp sacks is strictly forbidden.
The fish must be treated with care, not only the large carp, but all sizes and species.
Fish must be kept wet once landed, and returned as soon as possible, carefully and gently, to the water.
Carp antiseptic, such as Klin-ik, must be used to treat ALL wounds, not only the hooking wound. This product is compulsory and can be purchased, at cost, on site.
Boundaries
Site boundaries are clearly marked on the site map. The boundary of the estate is marked in red, and the boundary of the fishing area is marked in yellow. Lines may be cast past the yellow boundaries, with attention to users of the main house.
We are in France, and our neighbours are French. They are nice people and deserve our respect as they respect us and this angling venue. Please DO NOT cross the boundaries at any time, or cause any worry to or feed the livestock in the next field. If we get any complaints, this may jeopardise the venue, and your booking.
Noise levels should be kept to a minimum, especially at night. The neighbours may not be close, but loud music and voices do carry. Thank you.
General
No dogs or pets.
No children under the age of 16.
No swimming.
No Fires except for the designated BBQ.
Please carefully dispose of all litter in the designated bins, including tea bags and cigarette ends. Do not leave any food out, or disposed of outside of the bins. We are in the country, and food WILL attract vermin, and other unwanted animals.
The private lane shown on the site plan, is the entry and exit to the carpark and venue. Vehicles must not leave the carpark area other than by the private lane. There is no vehicular route around the lake.
The lake is hired out within the designated area, marked in yellow. The owner reserves the right to allow fishing, outside the designated fishing area, though this will be strictly limited and would most probably be “fun fishing” for the owner’s guests.
The mobile home
This is provided free of charge, as an extra, for the exclusive use of the anglers hiring the lake. We have every faith that this facility will be respected, as a bonus, but any misuse will result in this facility being withdrawn from your party. Water, electricity and bottled gas are very expensive, so we look for your consideration when using the Mobile home. The Mobile home is a No Smoking area.
We have created a new “Foss Septique” for the venue. It is NOT the main sewer like at home, so please be careful what you put down the loo. Loo paper is provided and must be the only paper put down the loo. Please use the main bin for anything else.
When you leave, we ask that the site, carpark and especialy the mobile home are left in the condition that you found them, needing just a quick clean and re-stock, ready for the next visitors. Please clean the BBQ. A charge will be levied for cleaning that may be required, or any damage.
The mobile home may be used from 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure.
A signed copy of the Terms / Rules will need to accompany the Booking Form.
Please use the "Print Terms / Rules" button.
